Google Pay Introduces UPI LITE for Faster Digital Payments


In an effort to streamline digital payments and eliminate the need to enter UPI PIN, Google Pay has launched the UPI LITE feature on its platform. UPI LITE enables users to make fast transactions, even during peak hours, with a higher success rate compared to traditional UPI payments. PhonePe and Paytm already support this feature. The UPI LITE account is linked to the user’s bank account and offers faster transactions without relying on the issuing bank’s core banking system. Users can load up to Rs 2,000 twice a day and make UPI transactions of up to Rs 200. UPI Lite also provides a simplified bank passbook with fewer transaction details.

Tata Sons Board Visits Bengaluru for Chip Manufacturing

Tata Sons recently organized a visit for its board members to familiarize them with the facilities at Tata Electronics, the primary chipset manufacturing unit. The board, including Ajay Piramal and Venu Srinivasan, was taken to Hosur and Bengaluru to assess the facilities. The visit included a board meeting chaired by N Chandrasekaran, where discussions took place regarding future growth plans. Notable attendees from the board of directors included Leo Puri, Harish Manwani, Vijay Singh, Anita George, Saurabh Agarwal, Bhaskar Bhat, and Piramal.
